Root Canal Therapy

When the pulp in a tooth is irreparably damaged (i.e., the nerve dies) the tooth can usually be saved with root canal therapy. This is now a painless procedure involving the removal of dead or damaged nerve tissue and filling of the pulp space with biocompatible materials.

Fissure Sealants

Dental Sealants – A dental sealant is a material that is effectively used to ‘seal’ the fissures and grooves in back teeth, in order to seal out bacteria and prevent decay. Dental sealants are most effective when used on children’s teeth, when the back teeth or first permanent teeth have first erupted.

Preventative fissure sealants are tooth coloured resin sealants applied to the tops of healthy teeth to prevent decay. Decay can form in pits and deep grooves in the teeth that are too small to clean with a tooth brush. Usually no drilling or injections are required for this simple procedure which takes place after your teeth have been given a scale and clean by your dentist.
